A hard copy of the new statutory land use reforms, regulations, and constraints for the future growth and development of Yarrabah Shire is available in the front foyer of the Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council building, and, as you may be able to see from the above photo taken today, it is 289 pages long!
A hard copy of Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire's first ever statutory planning scheme is being made available as part of a display set up in the Council's foyer to enable any concerned local residents and landholders to peruse, review, and self determine possible ramifications or impacts the proposed scheme may have upon their future development opportunities and prosperity.
Inquiries made with the nominated planning consultant (ie RPS Cairns ) to determine the possible impacts, inconsistencies, and costs of the proposed planning scheme for one resident and landholder revealed
- the planning consultants contract with the State (DATSIP) does not extend to responding to individual inquiries and definitely does not extend to responding to inquiries outside of scheduled group sessions;
- the planning consultants contract with the State (DATSIP) is largely focused on reviewing and providing specialist advice to Council on any submissions properly made;
- the planning consultants contract with the State (DATSIP) does require them to attend some scheduled community sessions in Yarrabah community to help explain the draft planning scheme and help ensure participants submissions are properly made.
Inquiries made with DATSIP (the contractors) revealed the planning consultants have only been contracted to attend two sessions only although there is some possibility the number of sessions may be able to be increased should the residents and landholders of Yarrabah prove sufficiently interested or concerned.
